PP is the chemical abbreviation for polypropylene, a semi-crystalline material. It is harder than PE and has a higher melting point. It has excellent chemical resistance, heat resistance, and impact resistance, is non-toxic and odorless, and is one of the most environmentally friendly engineering plastics currently available. PP sheets have excellent chemical stability and are inert to most acids, alkalis, salts, and oxidizing agents. For example, they are stable in concentrated phosphoric acid, hydrochloric acid, 40% sulfuric acid, and their salt solutions at 100℃. PP sheets are insoluble in any chemical solvent; only a few strong oxidizing agents, such as fuming sulfuric acid, can cause changes. They can only be used for hot melt welding and hot air welding with plastic welding rods.

　　Because homopolymer PP is very brittle at temperatures above 0℃, many commercial PP materials are random copolymers with 1-4% ethylene or higher ethylene content block copolymers. The strength of PP increases with increasing ethylene content. Copolymer PP materials have a lower heat distortion temperature (100℃), lower transparency, lower gloss, and lower rigidity, but have higher impact strength. Both homopolymer and copolymer PP materials have excellent moisture resistance, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, and dissolution resistance. Pure PP sheets have low density and are easy to weld and process.

　　PP extruded sheets are lightweight, have uniform thickness, smooth surfaces, good heat resistance, good chemical stability, and insulation properties. They are widely used in chemical containers, machinery, electronics, electrical appliances, food packaging, decoration, and water treatment.

　　Applications:

　　Acid and alkali resistant equipment, environmental protection equipment, wastewater and exhaust gas emission equipment, scrubbing towers, clean rooms, semiconductor plants and related industrial equipment, plastic water tanks. Thick PP sheets are widely used in stamping plates and press pads. Pure PP sheets are widely used in the processing of large chemical tanks.
