1. The installation of heat-shrink tapes and sleeves for pipeline corrosion prevention should be performed by operators who have received training and obtained a qualification certificate. Before the project construction, the manufacturer of heat-shrink tapes and sleeves may send technical personnel to provide on-site construction guidance, or construction personnel may learn how to perform the construction from the manufacturer. If it has not been used before, guidance from the manufacturer is required to avoid unnecessary trouble.

 

2. Construction should be stopped on rainy, snowy, and windy days. Strong winds and heavy rain can easily cause the heat-shrink belts and sleeves to become dirty and wet, affecting their performance and leading to corrosion prevention construction failure.

 

3. Construction should be stopped if the wind speed reaches level 5 or above.

 

4. During the installation and construction of heat-shrink tapes and sleeves, the relative humidity should not exceed 85%.

 

5. Before construction, the welds of the steel pipe should be cleaned, including the welds, burrs, slag, and spatter around the circumferential welds. Oil and impurities on the seam coating should be removed, and the end of the anti-corrosion coating should be repaired in time to avoid defects such as warping, rust, and cracking.

 

6. The end of the pipe body anti-corrosion layer is cut into a 15-degree chamfer using tools, and the chamfer should not exceed 30 degrees.
