There are currently two types of hot-melt adhesives for polyethylene pipe corrosion prevention. The first is a modified EVA hot-melt adhesive made by heating, melting, and cooling EVA, liquid paraffin, and tackifying resin ( Jacket adhesive ). The second is a hot-melt adhesive made from a suitable grade of polyethylene plastic resin, which is made into bright, transparent, uniform granular olefin copolymer hot-melt adhesive through high-mixing plastic extrusion and maleic anhydride grafting ( Copolymer adhesive ).

Jacket adhesive is used as an adhesive for the polyethylene coating 2PE jacket corrosion prevention of buried steel pipelines. When used, it is melted and coated on the pipeline using a scraping tool, playing a bonding role for the outer polyethylene layer. The jacket adhesive has high shear strength, high bonding strength, good viscoelasticity and self-healing properties, and excellent water repellency and impermeability. It can effectively prevent the invasion of various corrosive media, has good compatibility with the polyethylene layer, and can effectively prevent delamination and cracking of the polyethylene layer caused by various factors. It also has the characteristics of easy melting, easy construction, low melt viscosity, and uniform coating.

Copolymer adhesive is used as the bottom adhesive for the outer corrosion prevention 2PE structure of buried steel pipelines and the intermediate adhesive for the 3PE structure. When used, it is wrapped or coated on the pipeline through a plastic extruder via a die head, playing a bonding role for the outer polyethylene layer. The copolymer adhesive has extremely high bonding strength, good physical and mechanical properties, electrical insulation properties, and creep resistance, and has the same processing properties as thermoplastic plastics. During use, it has the advantages of no forking, no continuous strips, no film sticking, and fast molding.
